Astra Agro Net Profit Rises 19.3%

PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AALI) reports that the company posted a 19.3% higher growth in net profit for the year of 2011. It is as a result of strong production growth as well as revenue due to the higher of the company’s average CPO selling price during the year.

In a financial report in 2011 submitted to the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the company posted Rp 2.40 trillion of net profit last year from the previous year of Rp 2.01 trillion. Operating income slightly rose 6.6% from Rp 2.99 trillion in 2010 to Rp 3.19 trillion last year, while net sales increased 21.8% from Rp 8.84 trillion in 2010 to Rp 10.77 trillion in 2011.

“This strong financial performance during last year, mainly pushed by strong production performance in which our CPO production increased 13.9% from 1.11 million ton in 2010 to 1.27 million ton last year. Average selling price of CPO increased 7.8% from Rp 7.027/ kg to Rp 7.576/kg last year ,” said Tofan Mahdi, the company’s spokeperson, Meanwhile, kernel sales volume increased 34.5% from 147.595 tons in 2010 to 198.561 tons in 2011.

Until the year end of 2011, PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk managed 266.706 hectares of oil palm plantation of which 217.343 hectares are mature area. The company also operated 22 palm oil mills with the total capacity of 1,050 ton FFB (fresh fruit bunch) per hour.(*)
