Jakarta-PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk has been named The Most Sustainable Communication Company for the Agriculture Sector in the Nusantara TV Sustainability Communications Award 2024 event held in Jakarta on Wednesday (28/2).
The award was given as the national oil palm plantation has successfully communicated sustainability programs within the company to stakeholders.
Don Bosco Selamun, President Director & News Director of Nusantara TV congratulated the awardees in his speech.
According to him, the Nusantara TV Sustainability Communications Award is a corporate awarding event for the company’s performance throughout 2023 in making innovations and breakthroughs in communicating sustainability programs with the goal of ensuring that the public is educated with a wider reach.
“Thank you for the appreciation given to Astra Agro Lestari,” said Fenny Anggraeni Sofyan, Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs, who represented the company in receiving the award. According to her, the principles of sustainability have long been implemented in Astra Agro.
“Our sustainability commitment is strengthened through Astra Agro Sustainability Aspirations 2030 which is implemented through the Triple-P Roadmap Strategy,” said Fenny.
Fenny explained that “Portfolio”, one of the points in the Triple-P Roadmap, is a strategy aimed at amplifying the commitment to ensure sustainable corporate governance. In “People”, human resource development prioritizes inclusive diversity and a safe and healthy environment for all workers. Lastly, “Public Contribution” is present in corporate social contributions, which is strengthened by good corporate governance (GCG) as a key enabler.
This commitment is proven through carrying 13 aspirations that must be achieved. “Each aspect is equipped with measures that are expected to be accomplished by 2030,” said Fenny.
The overall sustainable commitment is an effort to protect the environment and create a company that benefits the nation.
In collaboration with Binokular, the assessment parameters are based on the first innovation program, which is the effort made to communicate the company’s sustainability program.
The second parameter is communications performance, particularly the transparency of information and management approaches to the public regarding sustainability programs that are run. The last parameter is measured through program impact, specifically the impact caused by the company’s sustainability program communication.
