Astra Agro’s digitalization program which has been started since 2018 continues to be developed. In early 2022, Astra Agro launched internet-based applications.
“The digitalization program has now begun to touch smallholders who are the company’s partners,” said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Astra Agro, Santosa during the Talk to The CEO event which was held online, February 15, 2022. According to him, by applying internet-based technology, service company to partner smallholder is expected to be better.
“In the end, in accordance with the spirit of ‘Prosper with the Nation’ which is attached to the company’s vision and mission, we certainly hope that the community will also benefit from the partnership with Astra Agro,” he continued.
The application is named Siska which stands for Sistem Informasi Kemitraan atau Partnership Information System. With this application, transactions of oil palm fresh fruit bunches (FFB) belonging to smallholder communities to companies become more effective and efficient. Siska encourages the smooth delivery of fruit so that farming communities can use their time with more productive activities.
The mechanism for the sale of community FFB transactions needs to be managed. Aparr from processing FFB from the community, the company also manages FFB from the nucleus estate. A neat and systematic schedule arrangement will help smooth the delivery of fruit to the company’s palm oil processing mill.
From year to year, partnerships with smallholders are also getting more significant. Compared to the previous year, at the end of 2021 Astra Agro recorded an increase in FFB purchases from partner farmers by 25.6%.
The Lauch of Tiara, Almira and Amanda Rawat 2.0
In addition to Siska, which is dedicated to the interests of partner smallholder, Astra Agro has also launched applications called Tiara (TBS Prediction Astra), Almira (Maintenance Application for Astra Agro). Tiara is designed as a useful application for predicting future FFB production through the use of machine learning. With the presence of Tiara, the production plan process that originally took a long time can be faster and more accurate.
Meanwhile, Almira is designed to ensure that the maintenance of the units in the factory runs regularly and well. It is hoped that the condition of all units is in prime condition so that performance is always in the best condition and reduces damage and technical problems that can hinder the smooth work of the factory.
In addition to launching new applications, Astra Agro also continues to develop existing applications. One of them is the application for the foreman of care (Amanda) which has been operating for several years and is very useful in helping the operational work of the foreman in the maintenance process.
The application has now entered the second stage, so that Amanda Rawat 2.0 was born. Unlike the previous version, there are many new advantages in Amanda Rawat 2.0. Among them are assisting the nursing foreman in making production reports, controlling and monitoring nursing work effectively and efficiently, as well as assisting in the daily evaluation of nursing workers accurately.(*)
