The company engaged in oil palm plantations was declared the winner of the Corporate Reputation Awards 2022 in the Palm oil category at a hybrid event held on Friday (29/07).
At the event initiated by The Iconomics, the award was given thanks to publicity. The coverage played a big role in building the company’s reputation.
In addition to the award for Astra Agro, the organizers also awarded the PR Persons Awards 2022 to Fenny Sofyan, Communication and Investor Relations Manager of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk.
“Encouragement and success to PRs and leaders who have succeeded in bringing their companies to continue to grow during this pandemic,” said Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia. Sandiaga Uno hopes that the award can create joint collaboration in accelerating national economic recovery.
At the event which carries the theme “Rebuilding with Reputation”, the basis of assessment used by The Iconomics and the jury team for the Corporate Reputation Awards 2022 is Business & Commercial Reputation, People & Leadership Reputation, Social & Citizenship Reputation. Meanwhile, the assessment for PR Persons Awards 2022 is Exposure, Influence, and Creativity. Awards are given to companies with an average score of >= 4. 1 on a scale of 1-5.
The award was presented by Bram S. Putro, Founder & CEO of The Iconomics and Alex Mulya, Director of Brand, Research & Strategy of The Iconomics to Fenny Sofyan. “Thank you for the support of my media friends, it’s amazing,” said Fenny when receiving the award.
Fenny further said that it was a big challenge for her to maintain the brand or reputation of Astra Group to be very good in the midst of the palm oil industry and of course in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic that is still raging in Indonesia. According to her, it is a big challenge for PR people throughout the company to show their agality, how the innovations of a PR person then become a work program that can help Management and make a better reputation and internally and the happiness of all employees in the company.
Fenny also said that maintaining reputation in the palm oil industry is a big challenge. The company’s sustainability commitment must be communicated well along with the company’s business resiliency to maintain Astra Agro’s reputation. (*)
