Impaired growth and development of children due to chronic malnutrition and repeated infections or stunting is still a serious problem.
As a company committed to efforts in improving public health, last Thursday (30/11) PT Sari Aditya Loka (PT SAL) held a Child Stunting Prevention Counseling. PT SAL hopes that this activity will have a positive impact on the village community surrounding PT SAL.
“We are committed to provide education in preventing stunting as part of our efforts to create a healthier community,” said Cipta Wibama, Administrator of PT SAL.
In addition to this activity, according to Cipta, PT SAL is also active in providing stunting assistance to Suku Anak Dalam (SAD). SAD or also known as Orang Rimba is an indigenous community who live side by side with palm oil plantation company. The program and concern for SAD is carried out together with the Communication Forum for the Empowerment of Suku Anak Dalam (Forum).
“Not only focusing on the safety of employees, PT SAL also cares about the health of the community and also the SAD,” Cipta continued.
As a speaker, H Abdaie from the Population Control and Family Planning Office (PPKB) of Merangin Regency explained an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of stunting, causal factors, impacts, and stunting prevention strategies.
“Providing adequate nutrition is the main key in preventing stunting, this can also contribute to reducing the risk of breast cancer,” said H Abdaie.
Furthermore, H Abdaie highlighted the importance of preventing stunting early on, along with breast cancer prevention efforts.
“By paying attention to these things, it is hoped that we can prevent and reduce the level of malnutrition and stunting within Merangin Regency,” he added.
Not only Cipta Wibama, Administrator of PT SAL, and H. Abdaie who fully support this activity. In this activity, Nyoman Christiany Yudha and Anita Dwi Sulistyowati, from the Lovepink Indonesia Team, also presented material on the prevention and early detection of breast cancer. In addition, Antin Sulistyawati, Head of South Tabir Sub-District, was also present.
This activity was also attended by 110 participants from posyandu cadres under the auspices of PT SAL, PT SAL 1 employees, Periska PT SAL 1 and PT SAL 2.
In addition to education on stunting prevention, Cipta said that PT SAL routinely carries out CSR in the fields of economy, education and environment. The company hopes to directly benefit the community, especially villages surrounding the company.
