PT Waru Kaltim Plantation (WKP), a subsidiary of Astra Agro Lestari oil palm plantation, held a socialisation with the theme Socialisation on the Prevention of Bullying and Violence against Children to commemorate the National Children’s Day
The event was held on Wednesday (24/07/2024), at SDN 011 Waru, Bangun Mulya Village, Waru District, Penajam Paser Utara Regency (PPU).
The program aims to support the celebration of National Children’s Day as an essential momentum for campaigning for Children’s rights to live, grow, and develop.
In addition, this activity also aims to protect children from violence and discrimination
In this socialisation, participants learned about the importance of the prevention of violence against children movement, recognised the definition and forms of violence against children in schools, and identified the impacts of violence on students.
In addition, steps to prevent violence in schools were also thoroughly discussed during this activity.
The event was attended by Dr. Aldyi Septian Putra, PT WKP’s Polibun doctor; Zakaria, PT WKP’s CSR; Pendi Eko P, and Siti Juliah, both teachers.
Also present were Purwanto, head of SDN 011 Waru and Dian Ibrahim Jamal, elementary school supervisor from the Education and Culture Office of PPU Regency.
Eko Andrianto, Administrative Manager (ADM) of PT WKP, said that this activity is a form of company attention to the community around the Company’s operations, especially in education.
“The Bullying Socialization and Child Violence Prevention activity attended by 105 students from grades 3 to 6 at SDN 011 Waru is a form of collaboration between PT WKP and SDN 011 Waru in the field of education,” said Eko.
Meanwhile, Dian Ibrahim Jamal expressed her gratitude to the management of PT WKP for the collaboration and support given to SDN 011 Waru in education.
