PT Pasangkayu, a subsidiary of PT Astra Agro Lestari (AAL), in collaboration with the Mapasitujue Community Learning Centre (PKBM), has launched the Study Group for national examination preparation (examination package A, B & C) aimed at Bunggu Tribe residents in Saluraya Hamlet, Gunung Sari Village, Pasangkayu District.
The program aims to enhance the quality of education and empower the community. However, access to education is not equal for all communities. Therefore, PT Pasangkayu has taken the initiative to address this challenge actively.
The Study Group has attracted a total of 27 participants: 7 for Package A, 10 for Package B, and 10 for Package C.
Juanda Syahputra, PT Pasangkayu’s Community Development Officer (CDO), stated that this program began in July 2023 and involves various stakeholders, including the management of PT Pasangkayu, the Pasangkayu Police, the Pasangkayu Education Office, the Pasangkayu Ministry of Religious Affairs Team, PKBM Mapasitujue, along with traditional and religious leaders of Saluraya Hamlet.
Additionally, PT Pasangkayu provides educational support in the form of books and stationery and organizes tutoring sessions twice a week. The Ministry of Religious Affairs team also contributes by providing guidance during these sessions.
Juanda noted that this program aligns with the government’s vision to reduce illiteracy and school dropout rates in Pasangkayu Regency. By reaching individuals of various ages, this initiative supports both formal and non-formal education, which is critical for human resource development.
Through the national examination preparation program, PT Pasangkayu hopes to empower local communities and create a sustainable positive impact.
