In line with the sustainability policy, PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (Astra Agro) is participating to enrich life of the nation through the Healthy School education with Character program, which is one of the main focuses of CSR pillars.
Demonstrating this commitment, one of the Astra Agro’s fostered schools, SMP Astra Agro Lestari located in Pandusenjaya Village, Pangkalan Lada District, West Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, was named the second Best Performance School in the Healthy School with Character Competition 2019 last Wednesday (11/13) at the Kartika Chandra hotel, Jakarta.
On the occasion, the Head of West Kotawaringin Regency (Kobar) District Public Health, Samsudin, SKM, MSi revealed “we will work together with SMP Astra Agro in conducting health care training and selection to schools in the Kotawaringin Barat region”, Samsudin said.
In line with Samsudin, the Kholik of the Kobar Province School / Madrasah Health Unit Guidance Team stated that SMP Astra Agro would become a pilot school for a healthy school competition in Central Kalimantan.
Heru, the principal of SMP Astra Agro Lestari stated that the success of Astra Agro Junior High School in achieving the 2019 National Healthy School was inseparable from the hard work and consistency of the school in instilling a healthy school environment in its students.
He continued in implementing healthy schools, his party also ran the Three Basic Programs for School Health Units (TRIAS UKS), namely providing health education, health services, and fostering a healthy school environment, he added.
By cooperating with the Department of Health, People’s Welfare, and the Office of Education as mentors, the healthy school program at SMP Astra Agro Lestari is determined to represent West Kotawaringin in the 2019 National Healthy School Competition. “That is because there is a synergy between schools, parents, companies, governments, and the community”, explained Heru.
