Astra Agro was awarded as Indonesia Best Workplace for Women Awards in Dedicating for Inclusive Employees Development 2023, Category Agribusiness organized by HerStory (26/05).
Clara A. Sukandar, Chief Editor of HerStory.co.id said that this award was given as a form of appreciation to the company for its commitment in realizing an inclusive workplace and upholding aspects of human rights as well as gender equality in the work environment.
Fulfillment of women’s rights, providing an inclusive workplace, providing facilities for female workers, and implementing development programs for female workers are the basis of assessment indicators in determining the title of the best company.
The award was presented directly by Clara A. Sukandar to the Manager of Communication & Investor Relations of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, Fenny A. Sofyan.
“Astra Agro is committed to upholding workers’ rights, especially the protection of women and children. This commitment is expressed in the formation of a gender committee that oversees Women Champions in each subsidiary as an effort to develop human resources. This underlies the coronation of Astra Agro as Indonesia Best Workplace for Women Awards 2023,” said Clara.
Fenny explained that the issue of Diversity and Inclusivity in the Astra Group, especially Astra Agro, is no longer a new thing but has become a culture that has been implemented for a long time.
“The existence of women’s participation in the leadership ranks to the lowest level is a common thing. Where we believe it is the spark, it also provides color for Astra Agro to be able to develop even better,” said Fenny Sofyan.
Fenny hopes that all companies can continue to strive to create a safe, comfortable, and friendly environment for women and children. This award is also expected to provide inspiration and motivation for all female workers in Indonesia.
