PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantation (TPP), an oil palm plantation company in Indragiri Hulu (Inhu), Riau Province, claims to have implemented Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by the mandate of Law Number 40 of 2007 concerning Limited Liability Companies. The CSR program is carried out every month.
“This is a form of commitment to sustainable economic development, as well as improving the quality of life and environment,” said Panji Eka Wisnu Aji, CSR Assistant of PT TPP, to Elaeis.co Saturday (29/6).
According to him, currently, 5 CSR programs have been running. The programs was meant to provide assistance for honorary educators and Integrated Health Service Post cadres, provision of health facilities, clean water, horticulture development, and the livestock sector.
“We carry out these activities every month in accordance to the needs of each village located near the company’s area,” he explained.
For the honorarium incentive program, the company has assisted 27 external teachers at SDN 012 Sungai Sagu. “Management encourages the program as a contribution to the world of education so that it can be utilized by the beneficiaries,” said Panji.
The company has also provided incentives to 73 cadres of the Integrated Health Service Post assisted by PT TPP and provided additional food for toddlers spread across 14 villages in 3 sub-districts.
“The handover of incentives took place symbolically at the Tikke Health Center in Jono Village, as well as the provision of additional food assistance to 1,243 toddlers which rolls out every month. This is a form of the company’s attention to public health, especially toddlers and pregnant women,” he said.
In Redang Seko Village, Lirik Subdistrict, the company distributed assistance to people who needed clean water reservoirs for equipment and ablution water storage needs at the Al-Ansar Mosque in February 2024.
While in the livestock sector, PT TPP assisted with the cost of duck cages constructions along with 50 seeds to the Mekar Sari Village Elderly Group in stages from February to March. “This is to help improve the community’s economy, it is hoped that there will be a better financial change than before,” he said.
“The company not only contributes to the development of local communities through its oil palm plantation sector but also participates in improving the welfare and quality of education in the surrounding area,” he added.
