Concern for the needs of the local villagers was demonstrated by PT Lestari Tani Teladan (LTT) through the inauguration and delivery of clean water facilities and MCK (Bathing, Washing, and Latrine) services to the residents of Towiora Village.
On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, the Astra Agro Lestari Group, an oil palm plantation company in Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi, handed over clean water sources and MCK facilities to the village.
This marks the fourth clean water facility and the second MCK facility that PT LTT has provided for the residents of Towiora Village.
“We are very grateful for the clean water sources and toilets,” said Warni, the Towiora Village Customary Council Chairperson. She explained that previously, villagers had to go to the river or relieve themselves in the woods behind their houses.
Warni, representing the villagers, expressed her appreciation for the new facilities provided by PT LTT.
Accompanied by village officials and community leaders, the Head of Towiora Village, Sukri DM Lage, also expressed gratitude and appreciation towards PT LTT.
“We would like to thank PT LTT for their attentiveness to Towiora Village, especially in providing clean water sources and toilets for our community. This assistance is precious to us,” Sukri stated. The construction of this facility was motivated by the ongoing challenges faced by the residents of Towiora village, particularly the lack of clean water and inadequate sanitation facilities.
“With the completion of this project, we hope that residents will no longer struggle to access clean water and can carry out their sanitation activities more comfortably and hygienically,” said Hadiana, CSR Assistant at PT LTT.
According to her, the construction of these facilities is a key part of PT LTT’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which focus on improving the quality of life for the surrounding community, especially for those with limited access to clean water and sanitation.
“We hope that this assistance will be well maintained so that residents can experience its benefits in the long term,” Hadiana added.
She expressed optimism that the issues of clean water scarcity and the lack of sanitation facilities faced by the Towiora Village community can be effectively resolved. Furthermore, she hopes that PT LTT’s CSR program will serve as a model for other companies, encouraging them to contribute to the improvement of community welfare, particularly in rural areas that need special attention.
