POSO – Playing an important role in the progress and development of Poso Regency, PT Sawit Jaya Abadi (PT SJA), an oil palm plantation company of the Astra Agro Lestari group, realizes that its role is inseparable from its social responsibility to the community.
Increasing public awareness to continue to live healthy and active lives and providing adequate health services is the Company’s commitment under PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AALI). On Wednesday (13/11), PT SJA held a social service in the form of a health program for the community, especially in Madoro Transmigration Village and Kancu’u Village.
“We are still experiencing limited health facilities, so the activities held by PT SJA are very helpful for residents, especially for the elderly who really need health services,” said Risal M. Pesudo, Head of Madoro Transmigration Hamlet.
According to Risal, more than 50 residents participated in the health check that day, and the majority were elderly. “We are very grateful to the management of PT SJA for the care and attention given to us,” continued Risal.
In addition to health checks, a blood donation activity was also held at that moment, which aimed to help the availability at PMI Poso District. At least 30 bags of blood were collected by PMI officers who were present at that time.
Elberto Tarigan, Sustainability Assistant of PT SJA said, this blood donation activity is also an effort to build awareness of healthy living and increase concern for others.
“PT SJA has the responsibility to take part in maintaining public health, especially those in our company’s ring one,” said Elberto.
During the event, Elberto was accompanied by Danang Setyawan, Astra Agro’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Dr. T. Muhammad Kamal, PT SJA’s doctor in charge of health checks, Pandu Pamungkas, PT SJA’s Human Resources & General Affairs (HRGA), Indra Metungku, PT SJA’s Sustainability team, along with Moses Patiro, East Pamona Sub-District Head, and Ns. Zeth S. Ranteala, Head of Taripa Health Center, witnessed the implementation of free health check-up activities for the community.
“Activities like this are very useful and positive, we hope PT SJA will continue. Forward PT SJA,” said Risal.
