PT Rimbunan Alam Sentosa (PT RAS) actively implements a routine supplementary feeding program (PMT) to support the government’s efforts to reduce stunting rates in Indonesia. This program targets local posyandu (community health posts) in nearby villages, demonstrating the company’s commitment to community welfare.
Stunting continues to be a significant challenge in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas. PT RAS understands the importance of direct intervention to promote children’s growth and development, ensuring they can reach their full potential. Therefore, the program is carried out periodically, providing additional food to meet the nutritional needs of toddlers and pregnant women registered at the village posyandu.
“We greatly appreciate the assistance from PT RAS,” said Masdihayati Tanuju, a posyandu cadre from Era Village, sharing her thoughts on the program. She mentioned that they received training on nutrition, along with food supplies such as eggs and milk. “This training helps us fulfil our duties at the posyandu,” said Masdihayati, who has been a posyandu cadre for over three years.
The Era Village posyandu has four active cadres and provides regular monthly services for pregnant women and toddlers. This activity involves the village midwife and a nurse from the nearby puskesmas.
“Every month, we serve around 20 toddlers and pregnant women. The PMT assistance from PT RAS is essential in meeting their nutritional needs,” he added.
Era Village Chief, Ferdinand Moenggo, expressed his gratitude towards PT RAS for their contributions. “On behalf of the Era Village government, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to PT RAS for their proactive support in various activities, especially in our efforts to reduce stunting,” said Ferdinand.
He stated that the PMT assistance greatly benefited the community, particularly the children in Era Village. He expressed hope that this initiative could continue and improve.
“The support from PT RAS significantly benefits our community. We hope other companies will be motivated to provide similar assistance,” he added.
PT RAS aims to foster the future generation through health and education with this program. This initiative aligns with Astra Agro Lestari’s commitment to creating a sustainable and positive impact on society and the environment.
“We believe that by providing support in the form of PMT (Nutrition Supplementary Food), we can help children grow healthy and strong while also supporting the government’s goal to reduce stunting rates,” said Reymond Ugi, Community Development Officer of PT RAS.
Through collaboration between the company, the government, and the community, we can more effectively tackle the challenge of stunting in Indonesia, bringing us closer to realizing the vision of a golden generation for the country.
