PT Lestari Tani Teladan (PT LTT), an oil palm plantation company that is part of Astra Agro Lestari, is involved in more than just oil palm harvesting. In the villages of Polanto Jaya, Minti Makmur, and Towiora within the Rio Pakava District of Donggala Regency, PT LTT has achieved equally valuable outcomes by supporting the development of the nation’s superior seeds through a scholarship program and incentives for honorary teachers.
This initiative demonstrates the company’s commitment to advancing education, which is a long-term investment in Indonesia’s future. In January 2025, joyful smiles were evident among students from six local schools: SDN 1, SDN 7, SDN 8, SDN 15 Rio Pakava, SMPN Satap 6 Rio Pakava, and SMAN 1 Rio Pakava. They received achievement scholarships from PT LTT, recognizing their hard work and academic successes.
Afah Aprilia, one of the scholarship recipients, expressed her happiness, stating, “I am very motivated! In the future, I will study even harder.” Afah’s enthusiasm reflects the spirit of hundreds of other students who are inspired to continue striving for excellence. However, students’ success cannot be separated from teachers’ roles. Therefore, PT LTT also provides incentives to honorary teachers in these schools.
Nurmiati, one of the teachers who received the incentive, expressed, “This incentive not only provides substantial assistance but also serves as a motivation for us to continue offering the best for our students.”
Ulin, another honorary teacher, added that he feels very cared for and supported. The backing from PT LTT has received high appreciation from various sectors.
Sukri DM Lage, the Head of Towiora Village, stated, “Thank you for the continuous support from PT Lestari Tani Teladan. This assistance is significant for advancing education in our village.”
The scholarship and teacher incentive program are part of the “Astra Cerdas” initiative, a program by Astra Agro Lestari aimed at cultivating a superior young generation.
Hadiana, the CSR assistant at PT LTT, expressed her hope that this program will motivate students to continue their education and inspire teachers to remain dedicated to their profession. Didik Karyono, representing the Administrator of PT Lestari Tani Teladan, underscored the company’s commitment to this initiative.
“We believe that education is the best investment. We hope this program will have a sustainable and positive impact on the community in Donggala,” he said.
Through this program, PT LTT not only contributes to the plantation sector but also fosters the nation’s progress through education—an investment that promises multiple rewards in the future.
