PT Gunung Sejahtera Dua Indah (GSDI) and Gunung Sejahtera Yoli Makmur (GSYM) held a Safety Campaign at Tunas Harapan Kindergarten in Sungai Bengkuang Village, Pangkalan Banteng District, West Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan.
The purpose of this activity was to instill a sense of safety awareness among children, teachers, and parents, creating a safer and more risk-aware environment. This campaign was part of the National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month.
The event was designed to be educational and interactive, making it easier for children to understand the concept of safety in their daily lives. During the campaign, children learned about basic safety topics, including safe walking practices on roads, the importance of wearing helmets when cycling or riding, and recognizing danger signs.
Emergency simulations were also conducted, which included guidance on how to act during an earthquake and how to cross the road safely.
Febriansyah from Astra Agro’s Central Kalimantan Community Development Area explained that the campaign reflects the company’s commitment to fostering a safer and more sustainable environment. He stated, “Safety is the main aspect of sustainability that we promote. Through this campaign, we aim to instill awareness from an early age that safety must be prioritized in every activity, whether at school, home, or in the neighborhood.”
As part of the campaign, PT GSDI – GSYM provided children with various safety equipment, such as small helmets, masks, and reflective vests, to support their safety in everyday life. Additionally, storybooks, posters, and educational videos were distributed to help convey the importance of safety in an engaging and understandable manner.
The campaign also included guidance for teachers and parents, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe environment for children. This education aims to help educators and families better understand their roles in ensuring children’s safety both inside and outside of school.
Nanik Linawatiningrum, the Principal of Tunas Harapan Kindergarten, expressed her appreciation for the program and hopes for its continuation. “We are very grateful to PT GSDI – GSYM for their focus on children’s safety. Early education like this is crucial for helping children understand risks and take preventive measures in their daily lives,” she said.
Febriansyah added that this activity aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainability. “As part of Astra Agro, we focus not only on business but also on ensuring the sustainability and welfare of the surrounding communities. Safety is a vital aspect of life, and we hope that through this campaign, children, teachers, and parents will become increasingly aware of the importance of safety in all activities,” he explained.
This activity is one element of Astra Agro’s Sustainability Aspirations, which emphasize safety and health as essential components of the company’s sustainability practices.
PT GSDI – GSYM is dedicated to continuing its support for safety and health education programs to create a safer environment and enhance the quality of life in the community.
