PT Surya Indah Nusantara Pagi (SINP) and PT Persada Bina Nusantara Abadi (PBNA), subsidiaries of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, have reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the culture of the Tomun Dayak Tribe in Central Kalimantan.
Through various initiatives, the companies aim to maintain and develop local cultural heritage as a form of social responsibility and respect for indigenous peoples.
A tangible manifestation of this commitment is the implementation of the traditional ritual of “paying vows” held in Pangkut Village, North Arut District, West Kotawaringin Regency.
This ceremony aims to honor the ancestors of the Tomun Dayak Tribe and to express gratitude to God Almighty for all the blessings received.
PT SINP-PBNA’s participation in this ceremony reflects not only the company’s respect for local cultural values, but also its commitment to maintaining and honoring the ancestral heritage of the Dayak Tomun indigenous people.
Aan Dwi Permono, Administrator of PT SINP-PBNA, stated that participation in this ritual is expected to strengthen the bond between the company and the indigenous community.
“We hope that through this activity, the relationship between the company and the Dayak Tomun community grows closer and more harmonious. More importantly, we want to emphasize that Astra Agro is strongly committed to preserving and respecting the traditions and culture of the Dayak Tomun tribe that have been passed down for generations. This is part of the community’s identity that must be preserved together,” Aan explained.
The Customary Chief of the Tomun Dayak Tribe, known as Damang Arut Utara, Sarwin, expressed appreciation for PT SINP-PBNA’s support in the ritual’s implementation.
“We are grateful for the company’s involvement and support in preserving Dayak Tomun customs and culture. We hope this synergy continues for the common good,” he said.
This statement reflects the indigenous community’s hope for sustainable cooperation with the company.
PT SINP-PBNA’s involvement in this traditional ritual is not just a form of corporate social responsibility, but also a manifestation of concern for sustaining customs and culture with sacred meaning for the Dayak Tomun community.
Astra Agro understands that culture is not merely tradition, but an identity that must be respected and preserved for future generations.
Through this initiative, Astra Agro aims to positively contribute to the preservation of traditional culture and the development of local communities, aligned with the company’s values that respect local wisdom and sustainability.
