PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations (PT TPP), part of the Astra Agro Lestari group and an oil palm plantation company operating in Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau, held the closing ceremony for the 2025 National Occupational Safety and Health Month (OHS month) at Monumen 75 PT TPP on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
This event serves as a reminder of the company’s commitment to creating a safe and healthy work environment through the application of the Zero Accident principle.
This commemoration is not merely an annual agenda, but a vital reminder about the importance of occupational safety and health. “We are dedicated to fostering OHS culture that engages all elements of the company,” said Victor Aybund, Administrator of PT TPP.
Victor emphasized that as an oil palm plantation company, PT TPP continually implements a comprehensive occupational safety management system. He noted that the LK3 Leader Program, periodic training, evaluation of work systems, and supervision of safety procedure implementation are top priorities to ensure that every employee can work safely and productively.
As part of this commemoration, all staff, from leaders to employees, signed the National OHS Month Commitment Declaration, symbolizing the Zero Accident spirit that PT TPP aims to achieve in all aspects of work.
The commemoration of National OSH Month at PT TPP this year focused on the theme of Strengthening Human Resources Capacity in Supporting the Implementation of the OSH Management System (SMK3) to Increase National Productivity. This theme aligns with PT TPP’s commitment to enhancing employee capacity through various safety training and coaching programs.
The event, attended by all assistant heads and staff of the company, featured Victor quoting the remarks of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia (Menaker RI) during the National K3 Month commemoration in 2025, which highlighted three key cultural aspects in K3 implementation: Just Culture, aimed at building leadership that prioritizes objective evaluation without blaming workers; Reporting Culture, which encourages awareness to transparently report OHS incidents; and Learning & Improving Culture, which focuses on continuous evaluation to prevent future incidents.
Successful implementation of the National OHS Month marks a significant step for PT TPP in reinforcing its commitment to work safety. “With the spirit of togetherness, we will continue to support all efforts to maintain the welfare and safety of all employees,” Victor added.
He is optimistic that PT TPP will continue to lead in implementing work safety standards, enhancing employee productivity, and maintaining harmonious relations between the company and its workforce.
This commemoration is a tangible expression of the company’s commitment to creating a safe, healthy, and prosperous work environment for all employees, he concluded.
