The closing ceremony of the 2025 National Occupational Safety and Health Month (Bulan K3) was successfully organized by PT Sawit Asahan Indah (PT SAI), an oil palm plantation company within the Astra Agro Lestari group operating in Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau.
The event, held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, marked an important moment in reaffirming the company’s commitment to creating a safe and healthy work environment through the application of the Zero Accident principle.
This year, the theme for the commemoration of National OSH Month at PT SAI was “Strengthening Human Resources Capacity in Supporting the Implementation of the OSH Management System (SMK3) to Increase National Productivity.” This theme aligns with PT SAI’s commitment to enhancing employee capacity through various safety training and coaching programs.
PT SAI Administrator, Dani Sitorus, stated that as an oil palm plantation company, PT SAI continues to implement a comprehensive work safety management system. He emphasized that the LK3 Leader Program, periodic training, evaluation of work systems, and supervision of safety procedure implementation are priorities to ensure every employee can work safely and productively. “This commemoration is not just an annual agenda but a reminder for all of us about the importance of occupational safety and health,” Dani said.
He assured PT SAI’s commitment to creating a culture of K3 involving all elements of the company, by enhancing human resources capacity and safety leadership to achieve a proactive safety culture and climate.
As part of the commemorative rally, all staff members, from leaders to employees, signed the National OHS Month Commitment Declaration, symbolizing the Zero Accident spirit that PT SAI aims to realize in all areas of work. Additionally, PT SAI presented awards to workers, supervisors, assistants, and assistant heads who successfully implemented K3 in the company.
The event was attended by all assistant heads, assistants, supervisors, and workers of the company. Dani Sitorus also quoted remarks from the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia (Menaker RI) during the National OSH Month commemoration in 2025, highlighting three key cultures in OSH implementation: ‘Just Culture’, which emphasizes leadership that prioritizes objective evaluations without blaming workers; ‘Reporting Culture’, which encourages transparency in reporting OSH incidents; and ‘Learning & Improving Culture’, which involves continuous evaluations to prevent future incidents.
The successful implementation of National OHS Month is a significant step for PT SAI in reinforcing its commitment to work safety. “With the spirit of togetherness, we will continue to support every effort to maintain the welfare and safety of all employees,” Dani added.
He is optimistic that PT SAI will remain a pioneer in implementing work safety standards, increasing employee productivity, and maintaining harmonious relations between the company and its workforce.
“This commemoration is a tangible manifestation of the company’s commitment to creating a safe, healthy, and prosperous work environment for all employees,” he expressed.
